Guided tour “Art and Nature” in the outdoor area of KIT Campus South. The tour is held in German.
Führung
Startpunkt: Campus Süd, Pallas Athene im Ehrenhof

This tour offers reflections on works of art in the outdoor area of Campus South in the context of the surrounding nature, led by art curator Andrea Stengel (PB) and biologist Maren Riemann (JKIP). In the urban space, man-made works of art exist in enriching coexistence with the surrounding nature, which we would like to view together with the participants in the style of a “walk&talk” and try out new perspectives. The tour takes about 2 hours and is barrier-free.
The number of participants is limited to 30 people.

Registration is required, further information at: https://www.so.kit.edu/237.php

Colloquium Fundamentale: Von der Schulbank zur Einheit von Lehre und Forschung. Die Entwicklung der Polytechnischen Schule Karlsruhe zur Technischen Hochschule (1825-1914)
Lecture

Anniversary exhibition "200 years of KIT - 100 objects. Parts of the whole. Selected objects from the history of KIT."
ZKM | Zentrum für Kunst und Medien
Lorenzstraße 19 …

The exhibition on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of KIT's foundation presents its history in 100 objects. This selection conveys the identity of KIT based on the development of its predecessor institutions. In the loose selection of exhibits, it becomes clear how KIT's current university mission evolved from the teaching of technology that began in 1825, and how large-scale research developed from the work begun in 1956 to develop a new energy source. The individual objects initially speak for themselves, without being forced into any particular order. Just browsing through them reveals such diverse aspects as the development of the scientific subject area, the teaching activities and also some details of everyday life in one of the largest and oldest scientific institutions in Germany.

The opening hours of the exhibition are based on the opening hours of the ZKM | Center for Art and Technology.

16:00 - 18:30
Art-Speeddating
Culture / Fun
ZKM: Zentrum für Kunst und Medien | Karlsruhe

The main aim of the speed-dating format is to get into conversation with new people, to look beyond one's own nose and to get to know new perspectives - by asking a variety of questions directly at the artworks in the ZKM exhibitions. Afterwards there is always a get-together with lemonade and chips (or coffee and cake), where the conversations can continue. :)

The format is designed for 20 people, so that internationals can get to know each other, but also make new contacts with people who have been living in Karlsruhe for a while.

Please register at: speeddating@zkm.de

The event is organised by the International Buddy Program in cooperation with ZKM: Center for Art and Media | Karlsruhe.
